Psychology and Psychotherapy

Time to be understood, and a clear plan for what helps. Our psychologists and psychotherapists work with individuals and families to make sense of what is going on and what to do next.

For children, adults and familiesHCPC registered clinicians

Reaching out for psychological support can feel like a big step. Our role is to make the next part simple: to listen properly, help you understand what is happening, and agree a way forward that fits the person, not a template.

Who it is for

We work with people of all ages, and with the families around them. People come to us feeling stuck, worried, or simply ready for things to be different. You do not need a diagnosis to start, and you do not need to have it all worked out before you get in touch.

  • Anxiety, low mood and the feelings that get in the way of everyday life
  • Big changes, loss, and times when life feels harder to manage
  • Understanding how someone thinks, learns and relates to others
  • Families wanting support to understand and help a loved one

What working with us looks like

Therapy with us is collaborative. We go at a pace that feels right, and we are open about what we are doing and why. Sessions are led by a registered clinician who stays with you through the work.

  1. 1

    First conversation

A relaxed chat so we understand what brought you here and what you are hoping for. No commitment, no jargon.

  2. 2

    Assessment and formulation

We build a shared picture of what is going on and why, drawing it together into something that actually makes sense.

  3. 3

    Therapy that fits

An agreed plan and the right approach for you, reviewed together as we go so it stays useful.

  4. 4

    Moving forward

We plan endings as carefully as beginnings, and leave you with practical things that keep helping afterwards.

Led by people who care about getting it right

This service is led by Dr Carly Pointon, Clinical Director and Consultant Clinical Psychologist, alongside Lorna Harvey, Senior Psychotherapist and Intervention Lead, and a wider team of psychologists and assistant psychologists.
